Covid-19 - Maßnahmen

The conditions for arriving in the Czech Republic will be simpler 15. 2. 2022

With effect from 15 February, the Ministry of Health issued a new protective measure concerning the return or arrival in the Czech Republic from abroad. The so-called traffic light will no longer be used and the conditions for return will be simpler. The traffic light will be relevant only for the entry of foreigners. Persons fully vaccinated and persons with a disease in the last 180 days will be able to enter the Czech Republic without any restrictions. The Ministry of Health takes into account the Recommendations of the Council of the EU through protective measures.

In addition to persons fully vaccinated and persons with covid-19 disease in the last 180 days, entry into the Czech Republic will be without further measures (apart from filling in the Arrival Form) also for children under 12 years of age.

Persons who have a maximum of 270 days from the completed vaccination are considered vaccinated. After a booster dose and in the case of people under 18, the vaccination certificate is valid indefinitely. Vaccines outside the European Union and people who have had covid-19 abroad must check that their certificate is recognized.

From 15 February, unvaccinated people will return to the Czech Republic whether it is a trip to the EU or a trip from a non-EU country. For travel within the EU, a pre-accession antigen or PCR test is sufficient. In the case of return from a third country, it is sufficient for Czech citizens and EU residents to submit an antigen or PCR test, others must undergo a PCR test only. Persons who travel to the Czech Republic from an EU country by individual transport do not have to undergo the pre-accession antigen test.

Subsequently, all non-vaccinated persons must return to the Czech Republic from a non-EU country to undergo another PCR test, on the 5th to 7th day after entering the Czech Republic. The antigen tests will be valid for 24 hours. In line with the EU Council recommendation, these obligations are abolished for travel within 12 hours and for transit. On the contrary, the exception to the entry rules remains valid for trips to neighboring countries for a period of up to 24 hours.

There is also an obligation to complete the arrival form, regardless of the country category.
